(Taken from chapter 15 in the book "Prepare for War," by Rebecca Brown, MD, pages 239-244, Chick Publications, 1987. Dr. Rebecca Brown writes from 7 years experience helping deliver many, many people out of hard-core Satanism. One such person, Elaine, had been one of the top witches in the U.S. for 17 years.)
Commitment is an area which demons attack. Weak Christians are Christians who don't keep commitments. The first step towards breaking a commitment is "toying" with thoughts of breaking it. Thinking about the "What if's." Let's look at one of the most common areas attacked by Satan - the commitment of marriage.
Now let's look at what happens to this marriage five years later.
Can you see what a set-up this is? Here's the scenario. All day the demon has been putting thoughts into the wife such as, "I work all day and all night too. There's no end to all of this. My husband doesn't appreciate me or what I have put up with. He comes home from work and expects to just sit the rest of the evening. I have to work all the time."
Here's what the demon has been telling the husband at the office all day. "I can't understand this job, there's no possibility for advancement, but I'm tied down having to support the family. I don't have the freedom to try to change jobs. My wife doesn't appreciate what I do for her and the kids, all I have to do is work."
So a pinch here and there to make sure all the kids are crying just as papa walks in the door, and the stage is set. Don't think demons can't make kids cry! They most certainly can. Jus try keeping them quiet in church and you'll find out!
Now let's look at the remaining chain of events, nicely handled by the demon, I must add.
"Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:8.
How many marriages are lost at this point? Here's how to handle the situation.
We must control our minds. I know of no other single tactic used by Satan's kingdom which brings down more Christians. We cannot let down our guard for a minute. Toying with thoughts of going back on a commitment is sin! Think not that you will receive any thing from God if you do this!
